Co-op Gaming needs and has got a Resurgence

Co-op gaming is one of the most special parts of gaming. There is a different fun in playing a game with your friend(s) .However, this feature slowly became defunct in the 7th console generation. There was more of an emphasis placed on the revolution of online gaming .Lesser and lesser games began to include even the concept of co-op(online or splitscreen).Although even in the dark, There were some shining beckons of light which implemented splitscreen in a fantastic way. That list has been put up on the co-op homepage .However with the introduction of the 8th console generation, it seems that co-op has made a striking resurgence with most of the games displayed at E3, VGX and other game shows. Many next generation games have deployed online co-op as an integral part of the game. Some examples of this are Bungie’s sci-fi epic “Destiny”. Destiny will revolve on drop-in and drop-out online co-op with the player being able to undertake and complete quests and boss battles with the help of 3 of his/her friends .Another game which follows this tradition is Ubisoft’s apocalyptic representation of New York City in ‘’Tom Clancy’s – The Division’’. It features a similar co-operative structure to Destiny. However in place of 4 players, “The Division’’ permits upto 5 players together in a squad completing assignments and missions. The last game we shall cover is again from the creative minds working at Ubisoft, ’’The Crew’’ is an open-world co-operative racing experience which spans the entirety of the United States .Players can form crews with upto as many people as they wish and compete either against other crews or against CPU players.
Co-op gaming is back with a bang in this 8th gen, but if you ask me in should never have left.
