After the hugely acclaimed success of the game MOST WANTED 1 way back in 2005, Most wantd 2 certainly had some big expectations to live up to as a sequel and though it mostly succeeds in in respect, there are still some gaps in this game’s greatness that its predecessor had pulled off with absolute perfection.
STORYLINE,
Most Wanted 2012 has a really linear storyline, but that’s ok, since it is not the game’s primary objective to deliver a captivating storyline. For the most part you are a racer, trying to become Fairhaven’s “Most Wanted”. For that, you will have to beat all 10 of the Blacklist drivers, all of whom drive awesome cars. This whole concept is quite similar to the first game, but hat one had 15 blacklist drivers. The game mostly focuses on eye-blowing graphics, full roaming freedom, and most of all, the RACES!
GAMEPLAY:-
Most Wanted 2 is a stellar racing game. The main reason for this is that the car handling and the particle effects during collisions are great. However, at first, it is very difficult to make out where the car is heading and even more difficult ot avoid crashing. The game smooths this out to some extent by having relatively slower cars in the beginning, which are easier to control.
Again comparing this game to the prequel, there are several points worth mentioning:-
-
The pursuits in the game are comparatively less fun. The prequel had such fun pursuits because of the pursuit breakers, die to which the player did not have to rely on pure engine strength to outspeed the cops. However, it is quite the opposite in this game. You have no option other than to somehow get on the highway before the cops get to you, and full throttle away from the police cars, and if you crash, you have to start all over again, with a police car just 2 cm behind you. This makes pursuits really boring and nowhere near the fun affair it was back in 2005 as you can’t time pursuit breakers and watch as cop cars are devastated by slab of concrete.
-
The other thing is that you can no longer customize your car the way you could in the prequel. It was really cool to put any awesome design or car parts you want on the car and take it for a spin with those patterns. Sometimes, it also boosted your morale to perform better with shitty cars. It also added a personal touch to the game. But, in MW 2, you have no option but stick to the stock color and body parts, with no options to change it.
To sum it up, if you could somehow combine the graphics and menu systems of the new game with the customization options in the older one, you will have a truly legendary racing game, that won’t be beaten for years to come!
